Deadly Desire

Happiness isn't difficult to find. The only reason it's ellusive is because we're running away from it as fast as our feet can carry us. It's like we think the teddy bear that's chasing us is going to maul us like a grizzly instead of give us a hug. The feet we run away on are desires, longings for things that are not yet and may never be. They make it impossible for us to be content with our present lives and thus unable to be happy. Now, don't get me wrong, having desires is completely fine. One just needs to know the deal they're making. Some things are worth being unhappy over and others are not. What ought to be avoided is not desire but unexamined, happiness draining, desire.
